Add and view a product

Once you've created a store, it's time to start adding the products the people can purchase. To do this, view the products tab for the store you want to add the product to, then tap New product. You can create products for audio and other digital download, for your cafe or for books from your resource center. If you are unsure how to add a different type of product please contact support so we can help.

In this example, the product is being added to the Resources store in the Message category, as this is audio of the pastors preaching. It is named by the date and speaker; you may also want to include the sermon topic.

The visibility determines how products are displayed in the online store. Hidden products aren't displayed, though you can view them when creating an order from within UCare. Published and featured products are displayed; featured products are always displayed first in the store.

One of the taxes that you added to the store needs to be selected. If you don't need to charge tax then add a "None" tax to your store.

If you select Yes that the product needs to be shipped, then when it comes time for the person making the order to pay they will also be asked for their shipping address.

If the product you are selling is a physical item then you can enter the number that you have in stock, it will then be displayed as out of stock when you sell them all. If you don't want this to happen simply check "Don't track stock".

A product can have one or more images, the first image represents the product and when you view the product details you will be able to view the other images, tapping on the each image will zoom in on it. Likewise a product can have one or more downloads associated with it, these are normally audio files but can be any type of digital file you desire. When products that have downloads are ordered the order confirmation email will include links to download the files.

Tip: You need to save a product before you can add download files.

Tip: Scan a unique barcode for each product to make it quick to look up the product at check out kiosks.

Note: You'll need to add a Tax to the store before you can add a Product, the tax could be GST, VAT, none or something else. Tax calculation assumes that the price you enter for a product is inclusive of tax.

 

Once a product has been added, you have the option to add and remove images and digital downloads, but you must add at least one detail. Details are how you specify the different pricing options for a product. In this example we are specifying just one detail to set the message download price to $5.

A more advanced example would be for coffee. If you added two details of type, Size, and name them Small and Regular and set them as Option, the product order page will display that as a drop down. You could then add another detail of type, Sweetener, named Raw Sugar and set it to Extra, the product order page will then allow the person to enter the quantity of raw sugar that they want. You may want to also add Extras or your other types of sweeteners and Options for the different types of milk that are available.

 

The side panel is displayed on the right hand side of the page, if you are viewing on device with a small screen such as a tablet or phone you can access it by tapping 

The side panel includes an option to get the code required to embed the store on a website with this product highlighted.

Next there is an option to duplicate a store, along with taxes, hours and products. This can be useful if you have products that are very similar and only need minor changes, or if you want to duplicate this product and put it in another store (for example a store for another church location/campus)

If you are an admin you will also so Latest activity, if you tap this you will be able to see the people that have viewed this and all the changes that have been made.
